You can register your interest now via the Teeth4Life registration site. The current Teeth4Life Dental app is over six years old and doesn’t need an update; it needs to be replaced. This process is more expensive and time-consuming than managing the website, so please download the Teeth4Life app while you still can and consider potential improvements

Although it may be a bit glitchy, you can find me in Bristol by scrolling through the practices at the Teeth4Life practice. To register for free, sign in as a Dental Nurse or Hygienist. Once the new registration page is built, I will reach out to update your record.

There’s also an opportunity to register now at the current prices for dentists and therapists. Please note that these prices will double on the new registration site when built within the next few weeks. Once the registration site is built, we can build the DHS App.

And remember, do not forget your password, as the “Forgot Password” link seems to have stopped working. 😳 But once you subscribe you will be found on the new dentalhealthservice.net website, and the new DHS App.

We are the trusted HEALTH ADVOCATES our country needs. By implementing a simple, bottom-up organizational structure, we can support one another and the public in improving the overall health of our society, even without central funding. The limited residual funding that ICBs have left can be utilized for core services, as previously suggested by the profession and the government back in 2000.

We can support our NHS limited resources better outside the current discredited service.

The primary reason for an app aimed at Dental Care Professionals (DCPs) is that it promotes you. Your patients trust you, and the app allows you to customise your services in greater depth than what clinical time often permits. It can also promote your online services or any other interests and services you provide outside dentistry.

The app is free for anyone to personalise and will allow the user to store their data on their phone, as well as any information they request us to retain for ordering preventive products or delivering remote dental assessments.

The reasons for using an app remain the same, with the primary benefit being its ability to focus and engage users through personalization. The new DHS app can incorporate recent advancements in app and dental technology. I believe a section that is updated monthly on general health could serve as a compelling hook to encourage regular engagement with the app. What are your thoughts or suggestions?

The cost will be £200 for a years registration for early adopter dentists, who will be able to promote their services. Then £10 a month for the life of the APP
For hygienists, therapists, and nurses who want to promote teledentistry, and mobile dentistry it will be £100 for the first year. Then £5 a month for the life of the App.
For nurses, it will be free.

For later adopters it will be £20 a month.
It will be run as a not for profit social enterprise.

FOUNDER DHS MEMBERSHIP

WHY £200?

Before COVID, I presented my Teeth4Life app to the South West AHSN, who expressed strong interest in the product. However, as an NHS organization, they advised me to return when I was generating a profit. The Manchester AHSN was also very interested but declined to proceed when I mentioned that the app would be free for the public, with a subscription fee of only £10 a month. They felt it was too inexpensive and that it wouldn’t be taken seriously.

At the BDA conference, one Harley Street dentist offered to pay £500 a month to be the first entry on the location finder, while a prominent BDA member suggested that the app was worth only £5 a month. The more dentists who join, the more likely the public will find us.

For founder members who pay £200 for the first year upfront, this will allow us to develop and market the app. After that, the annual monthly fee will be fixed at £10. Other members will be charged £20 monthly once we have sufficient funds to build the DHS app.

Marketing, CPD, Peer Review, Video Library

Videos can have a significant impact and serve as valuable learning tools. The first video I created on YouTube was sent as a private link to the corporate I was working for. Although they threatened me with constructive dismissal, which could have cost me over £150,000, we reached a compromise. They ultimately achieved their goal of passing the video on to another corporate for twice the price they paid me within three years, just as the CEO predicted.

The following unlisted videos will be available to fee-paying registered DCP members. The Denflix video library will be relocated and improved, with your support, within dentalhealthservice.net. This library will include CPD material on topics such as setting up your peer review group, delivering teledentistry, scanning dentures, 3D printing, supporting care homes and schools, digital training, and making your own videos.

Collaboration

Several dental groups are working to enhance our well-being through supportive organizations, and we need to share our resources. It may be practical to include your members on the DHS website and app as part of their package. If this interests you, please get in touch.

If you represent a large practice, a small corporate group, or have your own branded app and website, or from outside the UK I’d love to connect. I am looking for about ten engaging groups to make this a viable option for all involved.

A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

I first watched Sir Ken Robinson’s TED Talk about eight years ago, and it has since garnered around 350 million views. TED, founded by Chris Anderson, has had many impactful talks, but last year’s presentation was particularly enlightening. While I have never given a TED Talk, if I were to, it would be inspired by this one. There are few discussions focused on dental health, but one dental talk has now reached 1 million views. It’s somewhat depressing, but it also provides valuable insights into our role in health.

In Portland, one of the delegates said to me, “have you seen how UPFs react with soda, it froths up”. I’ll have to make a video.

I bought the Encarta CDROM fro my family for almost £100, it was a big saving compared to Encyclopaedia Brittanica.
But then it was taken over my a public minded free product curated my some dedicated individuals.

Why not provide a free trustworthy go to resource for the public? We can’t afford a nanny state.
